What is Assitive Technology?

Hi everyone:) My name is Renee, and this blog will specialize in assistive technology in the library. I've set up the blog with the basics, and any admin can change what they like.

I don't know too much about assistive technology, but I look forward to learning more about this interesting topic as it relates to the library system from this group!

What is Assistive Technology?

Here's a good definition from the Assistive Technology Industry Association:
Assistive technology (AT): products, equipment, and systems that enhance learning, working, and daily living for persons with disabilities. Assistive technology (AT) is any item, piece of equipment, software program, or product system that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of persons with disabilities.
Happy blogging!
